PREGNANCY COMPLICATIONS

We advise all mums to do prenatal pilates to avoid postnatal complications such as:

  • Pre-eclampsia and eclampsia – negatively affects both mum and baby
  • Prolapse – a condition which occurs when the structures designed to keep organs in place weaken or stretch, causing them to slip out of place
  • Episiotomy – surgical incision of the perineum and the posterior vaginal wall to increase the size of the opening for delivery. First time mums have an 60-80% chance of requiring an episiotomy
    Pelvic Girdle Pain (PGP) – the dynamics of the postural and pelvic girdle changes puts immense pressure on mum’s body.
  • Incontinence – urinary incontinence a very common postnatal problem
