In such cases that the client has purchased a bundle package, early cancelation can be rolled over to the following week. If you have purchased a package with consecutive sessions or any discount deals, cancellations are final with no refund. Classes cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice are treated as ‘late cancels’ and remain chargeable in full for drop-in or discounted classes. Missed classes are treated in the same way as late cancels.

Groupon customers cannot get a refund for a cancelled class.

You should check with your doctor before doing any kind of exercise during pregnancy. However, Pilates tends to be particularly suitable for pregnant women, since it is a low-impact form of exercise that strengthens the back, stomach and pelvic floor muscles.

Firstly check in with your GP, and then contact us for a consultation. Pilates is generally used as a rehabilitation therapy so we should be able to ease the pain or the discomfort to some degree, with strength and rehabilitation exercises to follow.

The Reformer is a machine, like a sliding bed attached to springs, to provide a resistance. It helps to reform muscular imbalances, tone, strengthen and lengthen the body without adding bulk, for a fantastic all over body workout.

Unlike mat work, reformer Pilates allows you to do footwork on the bar which is essential in this day and age.

“In 10 sessions you’ll feel the difference, in 20 sessions you’ll see a difference, and in 30 sessions you’ll have a whole new body” – Joseph Pilates

The beginners class structure is based on the foundation of Pilates. Clients need to understand ‘natural’, lateral breathing. Most importantly how your body behaves during movement in different directions.

Resistance Exercise

  • Adults should train each major muscle group two or three days each week using a variety of exercises and equipment.
  • Very light or light intensity is best for older persons or previously sedentary adults starting exercise.
  • Two to four sets of each exercise will help adults improve strength and power.
  • For each exercise, 8-12 repetitions improve strength and power, 10-15 repetitions improve strength in middle-age and older persons starting exercise, and 15-20 repetitions improve muscular endurance.
  • Adults should wait at least 48 hours between resistance training sessions.

Flexibility Exercise

  • Adults should do flexibility exercises at least two or three days each week to improve range of motion.
  • Each stretch should be held for 10-30 seconds to the point of tightness or slight discomfort.
  • Repeat each stretch two to four times, accumulating 60 seconds per stretch.
  • Static, dynamic, ballistic and PNF stretches are all effective.
  • Flexibility exercise is most effective when the muscle is warm.
  • Try light aerobic activity or a hot bath to warm the muscles before stretching.
